Ey up Ducks.
If you’re on facebook, then, err, so am I now. Check the link for Anarkiki updates and shit on there.
Praise the heavens!
Yeah, I quit my job. My really boring, depressing, shitty job. It was utterly mind numbing, and so it’s such an incredible relief that after 4 and a half months I don’t have to go back there again.
But i’m not unemployed! Oh no. I have 2 new jobs, one of them at a local independent/art house cinema and one working for a great homeless charity within the city.
It means I won’t be making as much money, but frankly, balls to money. I have lots more spare time now, which means more time for doodling, sketching, writing, creating and spooning.
So, first on the creative landscape;
Biscuits.
Biscuits is the name my mam calls old people. My mam is weird (but great!).
The reason behind this weird name is due to the fact that in France instead of having coffee mornings they have biscuit mornings. And all the old people just sit outside eating their biscuits. Its super cute. And thus I feel the name is apt in regards to such cuteness.
Anyways, I have a thing for old people. Just like some people have a thing for kittens.It was my Grandads 90th birthday the other week. And he is one cool fucking biscuit.
And so to celebrate the biscuit the next series of sketches and paintings i’ll be doing will be of old people, or biscuits as they all should be called.
Posted above is the first one of the collection. More to follow in the next few weeks.
I also hope to recreate these on a larger scale, perhaps some of them as paste ups, and others painted on doors maybe. Doors? Yeah, I like the idea of painting an old person on a door.
